5 Benefits of Distance Reiki Healing

Hello dear friends!

In just a few weeks, I will have officially been a certified Reiki Master/Teacher for 5 years! I can’t believe how much time has gone by, and all the powerful sessions I’ve had with clients all over the world. I truly feel so blessed to do what I do.

I remember in my Reiki II training, learning how to do distance healing, and thinking that it was...well, kind of out there. At first, it felt a little strange, sending energy across the room, then across the street, then to the next town, and so on. But as I was also on the receiving end, and after hearing feedback from my own clients and fellow students, I started to become a believer.

Because Reiki is pure healing energy, and we are all connected in the quantum field, it’s actually quite easy to channel and transmit this energy over distance. Many clients, myself included at the beginning, have a hard time wrapping their heads around how this connection works. Understandable! If you want to learn more about Reiki in general, check out this post here. And if you want more details on distance healing and the quantum field, I wrote you a little something here.

Nowadays, nearly my whole practice is virtual, and I practice primary distance work. And honestly, I love it! I think distance Reiki healing has so many benefits for not just my clients, but for me as well. On my end, it’s easier to schedule, I can do it from my home healing space, and it is often less distracting than in-person work.

But if you’re on the receiving end, you can relax and enjoy these amazing perks of distance healing!

1. No driving

Ugh, I do not love to drive. Especially if I know I’m going to be super relaxed at the end of the appointment, and have to drive home. I used to drive 30-50 minutes to get Reiki, massage, or other healing sessions, and it sometimes felt like the stress of the drive home took me out of that calm, happy state!

With distance work, there is no driving. No traffic. No putting miles on your car. No burning fuel. And no budgeting extra time before and after.

2. Wear what you want

When you are chilling at home, receiving Reiki, it doesn’t matter at all what you wear...or what you don't wear. You can wear sweat pants, no pants, a robe, an animal onesie, a tutu, or nothing at all. You get to choose what’s going to be the most comfortable, and nobody’s going to see you.

And speaking of…

3. No appearance worries

In my distance Reiki healing sessions, I do audio only, so you don’t have to worry about what you look like at all. You could have just rolled out of bed with puffy eyes and no makeup on, and I’m not going to know the difference.

This was hugely helpful for me, when I was seriously ill and couldn’t even fathom trying to do my hair and makeup, put on clean clothes, and see someone face to face. And I acknowledge this is a great perk for a lot of us, especially during the pandemic quarantine!

4. Familiarity of home

I’ve been to some very weird offices in my day, and some of them honestly didn’t feel all that comforting to me. When you meet someone for an in-person session, you have no control over the environment at all. And while most are quite clean and calming, sometimes there are scents, sounds, or decor that just doesn’t feel super welcoming.

When you’re at home, you have control. You can be in a safe, familiar environment. Most of my clients like to curl up on the couch, snuggle in bed, or lay on the patio, while receiving their healing session.

5. Soak in the afterglow

Like I mentioned in #1, since there is no commute following your session, you can really ride that post-Reiki high for as long as you want. The integration phase starts the moment we hang up the phone, and you have an opportunity to rest and begin that process at home.

I recommend to my clients to enjoy at least 15-20 minutes of chill time after a session, to process and do any further release that calls to them (cry, dance, journal, pray, etc.) This, I believe, drives the healing energy deeper into the body.

For me, distance healing was a godsend when I was really sick, and couldn’t drive far. It allowed me to access this powerful transformation, even from my bed, and even on tough days.

Whether you are struggling with chronic illness/disability or not, distance Reiki healing can be a tremendous investment in your wellbeing and spiritual path.

Please note that only Reiki practitioners certified in Level II or higher can give distance healing, so always make sure you work with a qualified person. I’ve found that my intuition and clarity got even better after my Master/Teacher certification (Levels III and IV), so I tend to prefer receiving from fellow Master/Teachers too.

If you are curious about distance healing and want to give it a try, there’s never been a better time! Schedule your session below!
